Crafty frame of mind

Forgive me for the abbreviated post today. Last night I did a couple of hours volunteering with One Brick so my blogging bandwidth was greatly reduced.

The project I worked on was at Art in Action, sorting art and craft supplies which were destined for local schools and summer art camps. All the great materials put me in a crafty frame of mind and I thought I'd share some of the lovely projects I've spotted recently on other blogs and sites. Regretfully I cannot claim to have completed any of these, but I did buy a pot of Mod Podge, which for me is a huge leap forward. I've put the following list in approximate order of difficulty (as estimated by yours truly!).
  • Mondo Cherry encourages us to make art from covered buttons. (I loved the look of this so much I stole the photo to show you here... but if I point you at their Etsy store they might forgive me.)
  • Give a mini Ikea chest some love, courtesy of Pretty Partridge.
  • Design Sponge demonstrates how to make a clock from, amongst other things, a greeting card and tin of mints.
  • Simply Natural shared info on creating a coat rack using vintage rulers.
  • And for your PhD in craftiness, the league-of-her-own Centsational Girl transformed her playroom using none other than a giant map.
I am incredibly excited because I showed this last project to Beloved Husband and he actually seemed mildly open to it. But don't hold your breath - we have to persuade the squirrels to move out of our roof and deal with a few more of life's logistics before we can embark on an adventure of this kind!

Photo thanks: Mondo Cherry.

I really like the idea of the wall compass (it's listed with giant wall map)
