Do you still use a calendar?

Not withstanding the pumpkins and leaves, turkeys and (for those in the UK) fireworks, there's something else that I look forward to at this time of year. Keeping in mind that I'm somewhat(!) obsessive and definitely over-organized, I confess I get a real kick from looking at all the different types of calendar that are available.

How can we not be excited about new stationery that beckons us to start 2010 in a calmly, stylishly prepared frame of mind? Much like clocks, I would put calendars all around the house if I thought I could get away with it. I'm linking up with Works-for-Me-Wednesday at We Are That Family and hope that after reading this, you'll head over there for further life tips.

Let's start with cute:
Owls Go Hoot calendar, $9.50 at Etsy

Very Inviting Paper's 2010 calendar, also Etsy, $18

Now some humorous options:

The UK's National Trust offers this Eco-chic Calendar for £5.00. Those recycling bins are for lovers and boyfriends....

And our good friend Keep Calm and Carry On resurfaces as a printable spoof calendar ($5.00) suggesting that you Make Resolution and Break Immediately or Drink Martinis and Seduce the Gardener.

And lets finish with some more eclectic looks:

Places I Have Never Been by JHill Design, $15

But this final Wall Art calendar from Paper Source is a dead cert for my wish list. Yes, at $26.95 it's expensive, but each page is a mini craft project where you can turn the beautiful design into a box, file folder, or note card.

Do you still use a calendar or has your life gone totally digital?

I already have a couple of calenders ready to go for 2010. No matter how techie I get, I like to have a regular old fashioned hard copy to refer to.

I love the examples that you've shown, but prefer to use ones that have space to right on. Art has 3 kids, 2 grandkids, 5 sisters and all of their kids-I could never keep all of their birthday's straight without a good calender.

I love calendars too. We have at least 4 calendars in the house, but I have one calendar where I write ev.er.y.thing. I have kept every calendar for at least 20 years. I love looking back and seeing how are schedules have changed over the years. I also write all of the cute things my kids say or do on the calendar because it is an easy place to keep those little memories.

I love calendars that can have a second life. I think I am going to be giving the Wall Art Calendar to a friend who likes paper crafts. I have already bought a couple of Christmas presents based on your previous posts. Thanks for doing the legwork and making my Christmas shopping easier!

I always look at the pretty new calendars but for years have used a desk blotter type hung on the wall behind me as I sit at my desk. I like that it has extra big squares that I can write in, draw in, stick stickers and post-its to, etc. By the time the month is over, there's a whole big picture of what went on both personally and professionally. They're fun to look at at the end of the year too... like a great big not-too-personal diary.

These are sweet. I always promise to myself that I'll start using one but in the end I never do. I only use my diary.

No, have not gone digital and love my calendars - when daughter was younger I used to have one with different columns on it, one for me, one for husband, one for her and one for the pets too...!

g'day struggler, I really can't seem to make use of calenders most of the time, I need a portable diary!

i use a notebook-type planner at work; i like the one i have chosen two years in a row as it includes beautiful photography and quotes about nature... at home i keep a wall calendar up but usually choose something cheap like my current $1 stock-beach-photo one from the craft store... i love all of your handmade options though!

I've gone digitial for the most part, but I DO love calendars. Love to look at them and you have some great choices here! The owl one is cute, the printable spoof calendars are too funny, but I do really like your "make it into a craft" calendar at the end. Love all of the bright, fun, whimsical pattern. Thanks for the tip on the blog party, too. Will have to remember that for future.

I love that last calendar. I think it is worth the money.
I do still use calendars all over the place. My only problem is that I then forget to look at them and miss everyones birthdays anyhow!!!

I still use a calendar...I have resisted going digital for some time, but I know it is only a matter of time until this changes. I've double booked days and forgotten too many events to stay with the paper forever.

How strange that I posted all these and never realized they don't have any room for writing. A dire oversight indeed! This makes me think twice even about my Paper Source favorite - birthdays might descend into disarray without the calendar reminder ;)

I just need a calendar when I can see what's coming for the whole month... I don't know how folks do it when all they can see is that one day. Don't they forget everything? I wouldn't even know my own birthday!

I seriously might have to get that wall out calendar! Mostly that's why I use calendars - I love the art, and sometimes I even do the "poor man's poster" thing and cut my favorite pages out of the calendar to save.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with flexibility in yoga! At least we have good company.

Oh man -- I love calendars too! I especially love datebooks. I found a new one to use for next year, and I can't wait to finally be able to crack into it!
